Back and Infrequent

The last 2 months have been a whirl-wind. And it's been fantastic. So busy, but so fun. I started a new job!  It's a breath of fresh air. There's a difference between having a "job" and holding a "position"- the difference you ask?  One is a placeholder, the other allows you to create a platform for which you can learn, excel and build a long-lasting career... I couldn't be happier.

Recently got back from Scottsdale AZ for work and I forgot how beautiful it is out there. Mountains, mojitos, and good company.

I will be getting back in the swing of things and should be posting like before.

Never Air Dirty Laundry in the Office

Image: Wisp of Silk Bralette- Anthropologie

I listen to this more often than not, and the purpatrator's door is always open. Tough times happen to all of us, but a DC Lady never allows personal matters at home to affect her work and professionalism.  Be careful not to share too many details, or any for that matter, about troubles in your personal life. It can be uncomfrotable for your co-worker, superior, or staff.

I'm experiencing it now and have politely begun to close my ears and not listen too intently at the message being delivered or shouted through the cooridor.

MUM is a good word and rule in the workplace.

little monsters

hopelessly waiting for these to go on sale. us ladies do enjoy sales.  the reason for the price tag? hand embroidered art. from the background, to the individual letters, to the furry little armpits. however these would be stunning in a study or entry way.  love anthropologie and all of their little monsters.

more than welcome anthropologie

enough said... heart.

Congratulations Sadie

From PAW NATION - Sadie the Scottish Terrier Wins Best in Show at 134th Westminster Dog Show! Congratulations Miss. Perhaps we'll see an influx of scotti owners in the area and around the nation.

Take Care of Your Paws

As the winter becomes increasingly colder and dryer, our hands seem to suffer the most.  Those annoying cracks and cuts are no good.  Make sure to take care of your hands by moisturizing every day, and several times a day at that.  Especially during flu-seasons when washing your hands is a must is when you need to take extra care.

I highly recommend the following products you can find at Sephora, South Moon Under, Nordstrom, or convenient store (well the last one at least).

Make sure to click the name of the product to be taken to the products website for more info.

Vaseline Deep Moisturizer Creamy. Good for every day use during the day.  Find at any convenient store, pharmacy, or grocery store.

Burts Bees Hand Salve.  Not only does it provide aromatherapy, it not only soothes, but cools your hands (sometimes dry skin can burn).  Precaution: Hand Salve is a little more greasy and you'll need to not touch anything for a few minutes to allow the product to absorb into the skin

bliss Glamour Gloves.  For night time use only. Where them in your sleep and it's like getting a hand treatment in your sleep.  You don't have to wear them every night, but you certainly can.  Your hands will feel silky and soft.
